Janitorial service is provided Monday through Friday evenings, excluding holidays. The nightly service within your space includes:
- disposing of trash in the waste receptacles and replace clear liner
- disposing of compost waste and replace compost liner
The Buildings recycling is picked up “when full” per union constraints of the “extra pick-up” of recycling from individual suites (see Recycling Program attached). Should your janitorial needs extend beyond what is provided for in your lease, please inquire at the Building Management Office. We would be happy to assist and provide pricing to you on additional services (i.e. (deep heat) carpet extraction/cleaning – recommended every 6 months, refrigerator cleaning, etc.).
In keeping with “green/sustainable” standards at 455 Market, the janitorial staff uses “green” cleaning products for cleaning including, solvents, vacuums, mops and microfiber cloths. The microfiber cloths are washed daily in the Building’s washer/dryer, and re-used.
Every effort is made to keep your offices clean and comfortable. If you experience problems, or if you have questions regarding the janitorial service, please do not hesitate to contact the Building Management Office. Building Management staff makes frequent inspections and meets regularly with the janitorial contractor to insure your space is consistently cleaned.
Large Quantity Trash Removal / File Clean Out / Debris Removal
Removal of large amounts of trash or non-compactable items, such as computers and similar office equipment, should be arranged by you by calling 1-800-GOT-JUNK (for excessive trash or/furniture, etc.) or Green Citizen (e-waste). Please advise the Building Management Office of your vendor(s) visits for calendaring.
We currently offer a grey toter at the rate of $35.00 per pick-up/dumping for excess paper recycling (only) you compile during the day. This request and signature for the charge must be made by the appropriate person within you Suite, and will show up as a sundry charge on your rental statement. Please call the Building Office to make arrangements for this service. These toters are useful for cleaning out files and similar projects during the day.
Tenants are expected to cover the disposal cost of any trash that exceeds the normal daily amount generated by typical office use. Our evening janitorial staff will not pick up excess trash in your Suite if prior arrangements have not been made with the Building Management Office. Please contact the Building Management Office beforehand to make these arrangements. Rubbish or discarded equipment may not be stored in elevator lobbies, corridors or stairwells for even short periods of time. Doing so is a violation of fire codes and building regulations. Cardboard boxes must be broken down and left near the trash bin for evening pick-up and disposal. Large quantities of boxes and those not broken down will incur a charge for our janitors to break down and dispose of for you. Information on this service and donating/recycling computer equipment and furniture is available through the Building Management Office.
We recommend tenants have their carpets thoroughly cleaned (using an extractor) at least once per year (6 months is preferable). Although spot cleaning is included in the janitorial service, shampooing once per year will extend the life and appearance of your carpet. Carpet cleaning is available through the Building’s Contractor. Please contact the Building Management Office for more information and costs.
